According to an exclusive from The Express, Barcelona are ready to prize away two of the Premier League’s brightest stars next summer in Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey and Everton defender John Stones.
Ramsey’s coming-of-age 2013/14 campaign, in which he found ten goals and eight assists in 23 Premier League appearances, saw the Wales international emerge as one of the most coveted midfielders in world football.
Capable of operating as a deep-lying playmaker, a box-to-box, a wide midfielder or a No.10, the 25-year-old’s diverse skills set reportedly gained an admirer in Barcelona boss Luis Enrique some time ago, only for the La Liga giants’ transfer embargo to stand in the way of a potential move.
The Catalans’ ban was lifted on January 1st and The Express claim they’re looking to ‘come back with a bang’ with Ramsey one of their priority targets for summer 2016 – alongside Everton’s prodigious defender John Stones.
Barcelona’s interest in the England international is no great secret, having been linked with his services repeatedly since the start of the season. Whilst few other clubs in world football feel confident of prizing Ramsey away from Arsenal, however, there is plenty of competition for Stones with Chelsea, Manchester United and El Clasico rivals Real Madrid known admirers.
The Express believe Barcelona could launch £50million bids for both players next summer.
