According to reports from talkSPORT, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are going head-to-head for the services of Fiorentina front-man Khouma Babacar.

The Senegalese striker is just 22 years of age but has already made quite the impression in Italian football, bagging 20 goals in 41 Serie B appearances whilst on loan with Modena during the 2013/14 campaign and five in nine outings across all competitions this season – including a top flight return of four in six.

Despite the Florence outfit sitting pretty at the top of the table before this weekend’s round of fixtures, they’re reportedly already resigned to losing the 6 foot 3 forward – well aware of Babacar’s desire to ply his trade in the Premier League.

And according to talkSPORT, the former Senegal U20 has already caught the attention of two major English clubs in the form of Liverpool and Spurs, both of whom are on the lookout for added firepower.

Although the Reds boast a four-man strike-force, Christian Benteke, Daniel Sturridge and Danny Ings have all suffered injury set-backs this season – the latter likely to be sidelined for the rest of the campaign.

Tottenham, meanwhile, have placed all their goal scoring hopes in fan favourite Harry Kane, after parting with Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor in the summer, and need another front-man to ease the workload.
