According to reports from The Daily Star yesterday evening, Chelsea are leading Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United in the race to sign Vitesse Arnhem striker Thomas Buitink.

The Dutch striker, who is just 15 years of age, has recorded more than 100 goals for the GelreDome outfit and averaged over a goal a game since the start of the 2010/11 season.

Buitink was recently invited to train with the first team squad at Vitesse, which includes Blues loanees Isaiah Brown, Nathan, Lewis Baker, Dominic Solanke and Danilo Pantic as part of a feeder club agreement.

The Daily Mail reported on Manchester City’s interest yesterday, also claiming Arsenal and Manchester United will send scouts to run the rule over the Netherlands U16 international within the next few weeks.

The Daily Star, on the other hand, believe Premier League champions Chelsea are currently ahead of the pack – claiming the link between the two clubs gives the west Londoners a distinct advantage over their rival suitors.
