Liverpool officially announced Jurgen Klopp as their new manager yesterday evening and as per usual, the tabloids have since linked pretty much every Borussia Dortmund player with a shock move to Anfield in January.
Indeed, it’s a bizarre yet recurring tabloid tradition to suggest a new manager will simply go out and buy anybody available who’s worked under him before, but it does happen from time to time – Harry Redknapp and Sam Allardyce being the most predominant examples.
So with that in mind, This Is Futbol have taken a look at the Dortmund squad, their status in the starting Xis and their contract situations, and drawn up a list of FIVE Black-Yellows stars who could realistically turn up on Merseyside in the new year.
Marco Reus and Mats Hummels miss out because, quite frankly, they’d be welcome at pretty much any club in world football and probably cost around £50million each.
These FIVE, however, could be the ideal signings to kick off Klopp’s reign over the Kop.
