Alexis Sanchez (3)

According to reports from London Evening Standard, Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez has dismissed speculation linking him with a shock transfer to Real Madrid.

The Chile international joined the north London outfit from Los Blancos’ bitter rivals Barcelona in summer 2014, setting them back a whopping £35million – the second-highest transfer fee the club has ever paid after £42.5million man Mesut Ozil.

He’s proved to be worth every penny so far, however, bagging 31 goals in 62 appearances across all competitions, including a strike in last season’s FA Cup final – the second goal a 4-o win over Aston Villa.

That saw the 26 year-old pick up the Player of the Year award at the Emirates and claim a place in the PFA Team of the Year, something which apparently hasn’t gone unnoticed at Real Madrid.

Citing Spanish publication Don Balon, The Daily Star claim Rafa Benitez’ side are preparing a £37.3million bid for the South American plus winger Denis Cheryshev – a summer target of Arsenal and Liverpool’s – in exchange.

But Sanchez has dismissed such a scenario, insisting to reporters that he’s happy at Arsenal. As quoted by The Standard, he said; “I’m very happy at Arsenal, I don’t think about leaving. I always want to be the best at everything I do. I’m never happy with what I do, I always want to give more.”

Arsene Wenger, meanwhile, is keen to tie the winger-forward down to an improved contract that could see him overtake Ozil as Arsenal’s top earner.
