According to reports from The Telegraph yesterday evening, Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to reach a Wembley ground share agreement with Chelsea to avoid an ‘ugly’ bidding war between the two London clubs.
The Blues and the Lilywhites both want to make England’s national stadium their temporary home whilst building new stadiums, with both needing to vacate Stamford Bridge and White Hart Lane respectively from the start of the 2017/2018 campaign.
Tottenham, who have already started work on basement foundations for their new ground, would only need to relocate to Wembley for one season whilst Chelsea could be there for three years, awaiting completion on their £500million reconstruction.

The Football Association have already given their approval to the Premier League duo to use Wembley as an ad hoc home according to Mirror Football.
But Spurs fear the stance of English football’s governing body could change if Chelsea use their superior financial muscle to make them a substantially more lucrative offer – which would effectively put Wembley up for action between the two clubs.
In order to avoid a bidding war and unnecessary bad blood between the two boards, who are already on rather cordial terms with each other, Tottenham would like to enter a ground share agreement for the 2017/18 campaign.
Chelsea, however, have refused to comment on the matter – and The Telegraph believe they will push for an exclusive deal with the FA.
