According to reports from the Sky Sports Transfer Centre at 10.07am, Italian publication Gazzetta Dello Sport claim Arsenal have launched a £7.13million bid for Napoli defender Faouzi Ghoulam.

The Algerian international has been in impressive form since joining the Naples outfit in January 2014, last term averaging 1.6 tackles, 2.2 interceptions and 1.1 created chances per match from 21 Serie A outings.

And following the Italian side’s failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League, he’s emerged as a potential target for several top European clubs.

Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Real Madrid have all been linked to the 24 year-old, with the Premier League champions viewing him as a potential replacement for Filipe Luis.

The Brazil international admitted he could leave Stamford Bridge last month and has been continuously linked with a return to former club Atletico Madrid.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Arsenal have made a £7million bid, following reports from The Metro earlier this week claiming the Gunners are ‘days away’ from signing the 6 foot 2 full-back.

Whether that’s enough to land Ghoulam, however, remains to be seen. According to reports in June, Napoli have already rejected an £11million offer from Chelsea.
