Krychowiak

According to reports from Shoot.co.uk this afternoon, Sevilla have rejected a €12million bid from Southampton for midfield enforcer Grzegorz Krychowiak.

The Poland international played a pivotal role in the La Liga outfit claiming a second consecutive Europa League title two weeks ago, opening Sevilla’s account during a 3-2 win over Dnipro in the tournament’s final.

Domestically too, it’s been a strong season for the 25 year-old since moving to Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan from Reins last summer, going on to average 3.3 tackles, 3 interceptions and 3.4 successful aerial duels per match from his 32 La Liga outings.

As This Is Futbol revealed earlier this week, Krychowiak has resultantly emerged as a potential summer target for Arsenal, who view him as a cheaper alternative to Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin.

But in a bizarre quirk of fate, the Saints are now targeting the midfielder as the France international’s potential replacement, knowing fellow suitors Manchester United or Tottenham could pick up where the Gunners left off.

According to Shoot, who cite Spanish sources, Ronald Koeman’s side launched a €12million bid for Krychowiak, which was flatly rejected. It’s believed their valuation of the player lays somewhere closer to the €30million mark.
