According to reports from ESPN yesterday evening, Sevilla are yet to receive a formal offer for in-demand striker Carlos Bacca.

The Colombian international has been in excellent form since moving to Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in summer 2013, firing Sevilla to consecutive Europa League titles with 49 goals in 106 appearances across all competitions – including 28 strikes last season.

That’s generated plenty of Premier League interest in the 28 year-old front-man. As This Is Futbol revealed in May, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have all been linked as potential suitors.

Earlier this week, Sky Sports’ La Liga correspondent Guillem Balague claimed Bacca would be interested in a Premier League move this summer, whilst the 5 foot 11 striker’s £21.5million release clause has become public knowledge in recent weeks.

Regardless, Sevilla Sporting Director Monchi – a retired goalkeeper for Los Rojiblancos – claims the club are yet to receive any formal offers for the former Club Brugge man – as well as rumoured Arsenal target Grzegorz Krychowiak.

“Bacca is happy in Seville and with Sevilla. That is recognised, and if they come for him I have enough arguments to convince him to stay,” said Monchi in an interview with Spanish publication AS.

“Krychowiak is a guy who has his route map very well worked out, and his interest to leave Sevilla, at the moment, is zero.

“There have been no formal offers from clubs, but lots of soundings-out from agents. I see a big difference from real offers, when a club calls directly asking about a player or an email with a written offer. That is an offer.

“A call from an agent asking about a particular situation I do not consider an offer, and I get them daily,” he added.
