Despite strolling their way to the 2014/15 Premier League title in surprisingly comfortable fashion, the tabloids remain adamant Chelsea will be very, very busy in the transfer market this summer.

Indeed, with Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United all expected to push on next season and make the Premier League’s summit a far more interesting place, the Blues will need to strengthen their title-winning squad if they wish to become the first club to retain the English crown since the Red Devils in 2009.

But new recruits also means some inevitable departures, and over the course of the season certain names have certainly moved towards the peripheries of the roster.

So with plenty expected on both the inward and outward front, This Is Futbol have conjured up this list of the west London outfit’s ten likeliest summer transfers – consisting of five departees followed by their five probable replacements.

Would you like to see the Blues make some of these trade offs in the coming transfer window?

“It will be a saddening departure for many” – haha thanks for the shout-out. Paul Pogba wishes he was as good as Mikel! Next Chelsea captain imo

Ideally I’d like to retain Rémy as well, I think he’s a great backup striker with an alternate approach to Costa, like a budget Anelka. Wouldn’t mind seeing Bamford slot in as third choice either, although I think it’s pretty clear that it’s time for Didier to retire. Would love to keep him around as a coach though, the man is a legend.

Never heard of that Ghanaian left-back, although the more Africans the better in my book (especially Mikel). Although all of this pales in the wake of Bertrand Traoré’s inevitable return to Chelsea and rise to stardom as the ‘Burkinabè Messi’

While everyone is scrapping over Pogba I certainly wouldn’t mind us slipping in and getting Matuidi (a.k.a. ‘the thinking man’s Paul Pogba’) on the cheap. I think Matuidi is great, definitely better than Verratti (a.k.a. the Italian Charlie Adam)
