According to reports from BBC Sport yesterday afternoon, Barcelona star Dani Alves will reveal the next chapter in his illustrious career the day following the club’s Champions League final with Juventus on June 6th.
The Brazil international looks set to leave the Nou Camp upon the expiration of his contract this summer, having reportedly turned down an extension offer from the Catalan club earlier this month – as This Is Futbol revealed last week.
BBC Sport moot Ligue 1 champions PSG as his likeliest suitors but Premier League duo Manchester United and Liverpool are also considered to be in the mix for the 32 year-old’s signature – as revealed by This Is Futbol.
In fact, The Daily Mail claimed in April that no less than seven clubs are courting the five-time Champions League winner ahead of the summer transfer window.
But in a bid to silence speculation until Barcelona’s season officially comes to an end, with a Copa del Rey final this Saturday and a Champions League final one week after, Alves has insisted there will be no news on his future until June 7th.
“From 7 June I’ll announce my future. Now, the future is about playing in two finals,” he said.
“My intention was not to speak, but I haven’t been respected with a lot of silly things. It’s gone too far.
“I don’t want anybody to influence my decisions. My future only depends on me,” he added.
