According to reports from The Express this morning, Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal this summer.

The Chile international is widely regarded as one of the most complete central midfielders in world football, this season averaging 3.1 tackles per-match in Serie A whilst notching up seven goals and four assists. That combination and Vidal’s tenacious nature has lead to the moniker ‘Il Guerriero’ – aka, The Warrior – within the Italian press.

Manchester United came close to signing the 27 year-old last summer, with The Express claiming in August 2014 that he’d agreed personal terms with Louis van Gaal’s side, but a transfer eventually failed to materialise.

And according to reports this morning, Arsenal have now agreed terms to sign the Juventus star. They were first alerted of his availability by a Liverpool bid last week and have since been using compatriot Alexis Sanchez to leverage a deal. The Arsenal forward and the four-time Serie A winner share the same agent.

The Express claim the transfer will be worth around £25million.
