According to reports from The Daily Star this morning, Manchester United are plotting a ten-man clearout for the summer transfer window as Louis van Gaal looks to gear his squad towards taking next season’s Premier League title.

According to the British tabloids, the ten players in question are Anders Lindegaard, Ben Amos, Rafael, Jonny Evans, Tom Cleverley, Nick Powell, Nani, Javier Hernández, Ángelo Henríquez and Will Keane.

The news will be of particular interest to Liverpool. As This Is Futbol informed you last week, the Reds are considering a £14million bid for striker Javier Hernandez, which would make him the first player to move directly between the northwest rivals since Phil Chisnall all the way back in 1964.

The Mexico international has spent the season on loan at Real Madrid but a permanent deal seems unlikely, having netted just five times in 23 appearances for his adoptive club.

He’ll return to Old Trafford with just a year remaining on his contract, so the Red Devils are widely expected to sell.

Meanwhile, Tottenham, Sunderland, Everton and West Ham have all been linked with midfielder Tom Cleverley – as This Is Futbol revealed last week.
