Edinson Cavani

According to reports from The Express this evening, Serie A champions Juventus have entered the race for Arsenal and Manchester United target Edinson Cavani.

As This Is Futbol informed you last week, a rift developing between the Uruguay international and PSG manager Laurent Blanc could see him leave the French champions this summer – following a touchline spat and claims from Cavani’s agent that a Premier League move could be on the cards.

Arsenal and Manchester United are considered to be amongst the 28 year-old’s likeliest suitors, keen to bolster their forward lines with a centre-forward who boasts 149 goals in 223 appearances throughout prolific spells with Napoli and PSG.

But The Express claim Juventus are also interested in Cavani’s services, and plan to use the profits from the expected sale of star midfielder Paul Pogba to fund a summer bid. As This Is Futbol reported on Saturday, Chelsea and Manchester City – alongside a number of Europe’s other top clubs – are targeting the £65m-rated France international.

Whether Juventus’ interest will force Arsenal and Man United to consider alternative targets remains to be seen.
