Arda TuranLiverpool have been linked with a move for Arda Turan for a long, long time. Indeed, they were first linked to the Turkish ace back in 2011. In the end, he’s wound up at Atletico Madrid, where he’s proven to be a big hit.

He was a major part of the team that won the La Liga title last season (at the expense of big boys like Real Madrid and Barcelona) and has continued his good form this year. The fleet-footed winger has pace to burn, loves to run at defenders and is more than capable of making things happen in the final third.

Because he’s so direct and quick, it’s easy to see him slotting directly into Liverpool’s team and making his mark in the Premier League. His versatility will also help: Turan’s capable of playing on either flank. If he were to move to Anfield, he’d be given plenty of opportunities to impress.

The Reds have already got a few decent options in this area of the pitch, but that’s not to say that they can’t do any better. Signing a talented winger like Arda Turan could help players like Mario Balotelli to re-find their goal-scoring form and could help Brendan Rodgers’ side to climb back up the Premier League table.

As it happens, Arda Turan probably wouldn’t be averse to a move to Anfield. Check out these comments from the player back (whilst bearing in mind that they trace back a few years): “I want to play in major leagues and my dream team is Liverpool.” (Source: The Express)

That’s great news for Brendan Rodgers. With The Express also claiming that Atletico Madrid are willing to sell Turan (to finance a move for Arsenal’s Santi Cazorla, apparently), it looks like The Reds are well placed. If they want to sign this Turkish talent, all they have to do is find £26.5m.

This would be no small feat, but it would represent a major step forward for the club.

What’s your take? Could The Reds finally be in a position to wrap up a deal for Arda Turan?
