Roy Hodgson

A victory for England in tonight’s Euro 2016 qualifier at Wembley could see them move nine points clear of the competition in Group E, almost certainly ensuring our place at the international tournament in France.

Not everybody, however, is quite so pleased with the direction manager Roy Hodgson has taken the Three Lions since his appointment in 2012; it’s been an era of laboured, unexciting and simplistic football, and many were resultantly surprised the 67 year-old avoided the sack after overseeing England’s worst ever World Cup campaign in Brazil last summer.

With some exciting youngsters now on the scene however – Harry Kane, Raheem Sterling, Jordan Henderson and Jack Wilshere to name a few – England have the potential to cause a few upsets at Euro 2016, but probably not with the ever-conservative Hodgson in charge.

Perhaps it’s time to consider some slightly more ambitious, experimental alternatives, and with that in mind, This Is Futbol have listed FIVE of them.
