Greg Dyke

As reported by Sky Sports earlier this week, FA chairman Greg Dyke is planning to readdress the balance of home-grown talent in the Premier League with a set of new proposals.

The most notable change to the current rules is the seismic reduction from 17 to just 13 non-home grown players, meaning a number of clubs – namely, Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea, Manchester City and Newcastle – will need to undergo a bit of a reshuffle, swapping their foreign stars for a handful of likely less talented Englishmen.

Set to come into effect from 2016 onward, there’s not too much time for the aforementioned sides to prepare. And as we all know, English prospects are amongst the most overpriced in world football.

Showing it’s by no means an impossible task however, This Is Futbol have come up with a list of FIVE ludicrously cheap Englishmen of Premier League standard – only one would command an actual transfer fee – that would particularly suit Arsenal and Chelsea.
