Pedro RodriguezArsenal have a wealth of attacking options, but they often lack killer edge upfront. The Gunners have been in good form recently, but they haven’t exactly put clubs like Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough to the sword, have they?

Players like Danny Welbeck and Olivier Giroud have quality, but I’m not sure that either of them have killer edge. Danny Welbeck has pace to burn (and pretty good technique), but he’s a little goal-shy. Giroud’s goal-scoring record has improved since he’s returned back from injury, but he’s got no pace to speak of whatsoever.

With this in mind, I wouldn’t be hugely surprised if Arsene Wenger were considering adding a little more quality to his forward ranks this summer. He’s got plenty of options already, so whoever he brings in is likely to be a high-quality footballer.

This brings me to The Metro‘s claim that Arsenal are still in the market for Barcelona’s impressively consistent winger, Pedro. The 27-year-old has been a one club man throughout his career, but he’s reaching the end of his current contract with the Spanish powerhouse. By the end of next summer, he could well be available as a free transfer.

What’s more, it wouldn’t be hugely surprising if he did avoid signing a new deal. He’s only started 11 times this season and has struggled to fit in alongside the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez.

The source notes that Pedro is on good terms with Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez, but fails to establish how much it might cost to sign him. Luckily, The Gunners seem to be in a position of power here. If the Spanish winger is feeling unsettled in his current digs, they can simply wait until his contract is set to expire and then snap him up.

Here’s hoping that Arsenal profit from Barcelona’s neglect once again.

What’s your take? Would you like to see Pedro in an Arsenal shirt? Who else should The Gunners look at during the summer transfer window?
