Javier Hernandez1The summer transfer window saw as many as five new players brought into Manchester United, whilst many fringe players departed on loan or permanent deals. Ironically, Javier Hernández found himself in this group of players rather than the top bracket.

Reports have always suggested Louis Van Gaal is keen to offload the forward permanently to make room for another one. Radamel Falcao has been acquired on a loan with a view to making the deal permanent at the end of the season. However, this decision could cost Man United dearly if Chicharito is actually sold this January, or in the summer.

RVP is 31 and will turn 32 this year. He has a history for picking up nasty injuries and an older RVP would only be more vulnerable to those niggling injuries. At 29, Rooney has a while left playing in his prime but his inconsistent form makes him a liability at times. Hernández’s replacement, Falcao only looks a shadow of his former hotshot days.

Javier Hernández is a potent forward and has proved his knack for scoring goals many times, scoring those late winners in some of the most famous Manchester United comebacks (something which United are missing this season). He is two-footed, very quick, in possession of a good spring, and a natural goal scorer.

Unsurprisingly, he holds the fourth best goal scoring rate (return of 37 goals every 130 premier league minutes) in the history of the premier league and also boasts the best scoring rate among the current crop of forwards at Manchester United.

He has been relatively successful even at Real Madrid smashing home three goals in just eight appearances. Chicharito has the right attitude and is a team player, a quality praised even by RVP himself. It is no-brainer that a club like Real Madrid has signed him on loan.

Finally, he’s only 26 and his best years are still ahead of him. He plays extremely well with both feet and scores goals at ease. The 26-year-old needs more playing time and backing. Manchester United must avoid selling Chicharito at any cost because he could well be their main man if backed by Van Gaal. It would be irrational to sell a younger player of the same ilk to make place for a superstar who seems to be fading (Falcao).

A quartet including Wayne Rooney, Robin Van Persie, James Wilson and Chicharito still looks very potent . Let’s hope that Van Gaal goes for it.
