Paulo DybalaArsenal have only just signed two exciting attacking talents, Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez, but it wouldn’t be all that surprising to see Arsene Wenger target further attacking options during the January transfer window. The Professor can’t seem to help himself.

It’s clear to just about everybody that The Gunners need new defensive options. But has Arsene Wenger shown any sense of priority in recent years?

Besides, if there’s a player out there that’s good enough to improve Arsenal’s forward line-up, why shouldn’t Wenger snap him up? So long as he brings in a centre-back and a defensive midfielder, I’m not too fussed about what further additions he makes.

There has to be a reason why The Gunners keep getting linked to Palermo prodigy, Paulo Dybala. The 21-year-old has been making quite a name for himself with his pace, dynamism, technique and confident nature in front of goal. His performances have been so good that he’s started to earn comparisons to Sergio Aguero (of course, his Argentine nationality helps in this regard.

With 7 goals in 14 appearances for a mid-level Serie A side, he’s a player that’s worth monitoring. He could well be the next big thing.

As you might expect, Palermo are keen to lock him down on a longer contract. The Metro recently ran an article suggesting that the club are working on improved terms for the Argentine ace. This new deal would include a ‘hefty release clause’ and it wouldn’t expire until 2018.

In other words, if The Gunners are genuinely interested, they’re going to have to move in for Dybala sooner rather than later. This is one case where they simply can’t afford to sit still.

Arsene Wenger needs to make his interest clear to the player, in the hope that this will prevent him from signing new contractual terms with Palermo. At this stage, The Gunners can start putting together the money that it might take to persuade the Serie A club to sell.

It won’t be an easy deal to close, but it also won’t be impossible.

What’s your take? Is Paulo Dybala a good option for Arsenal football club?
