Paul Pogba 1One of the biggest mistakes of Sir Alex Ferguson’s time at Old Trafford was his decision to let talented French midfielder Paul Pogba leave the club. Whilst he was in charge, Fergie refused to suffer any fools. He was keen to let his players know that he wouldn’t be second guessed. If he chose to play you, not to play you or to play you out of position, it was with good reason and not up for debate.

But one consequence of this approach to management is that players who got sidelined despite their natural ability, often struggled to break into the first team. Paul Pogba is a prime example of this. It was clear that he was a top young player very early on in his Manchester United career. Now that he’s excelling at Juventus, his natural ability is even more evident.

But for one reason or another, there wasn’t any room for the young Frenchman and he ended up falling out with Sir Alex. His exit was the natural next step for his career.

I’m sure that Manchester United fans wish that their manager had done more to placate Pogba. The 21-year-old is now widely regarded as one of the best young footballers in the game. He’s powerful, tough and he’s got an eye for a killer pass. He also scored nine goals last season, which isn’t a bad return for a youngster playing in the centre-of-the-park.

Now, according to The Metro, Paul Pogba is currently undergoing contract negotiations with Juventus. It’s thought that he’s going to agree new terms with the Serie A side, but the aforementioned source notes that both Chelsea and Manchester United are paying keen attention to the process, in case an opportunity opens up for them to swoop in and snap him up.

Could United really lure Paul Pogba back to Old Trafford? That remains to be seen. One thing’s for sure: the Frenchman is now a player that’s ready to perform week-in and week-out on the world stage. Sir Alex made a mistake letting him go, but Louis Van Gaal could steady the Manchester United ship by bringing him back.

What’s your take? Should The Red Devils be interested in re-signing Paul Pogba?

Its Important that we get our quality old boy back, But that will only meet our need but not solve the problem. The Key problems are centered around training. Defense sets foundation to launch an attack, sory ours defense’s in a poor state; Positional Primary roles need to be improved upon. Van Persie, Mata were Horrible yesterday and Rojo and Jones need more defense Education, no coordination at all. We need to borrow a leaf from Carlos Quiros if we can’t get him back. Rem in Brazil how Iran Faired in the last World Cup. Lastly we need to improve on one on one Challenge, not 4 players marking one opponent and not retrieving the ball back, its a pity.
