PedroPedro has been an extremely important footballer for Barcelona over the years. Up until this point, he’s also been a one club man. Could this all be about to change?

The Metro recently ran an article suggesting that the Spaniard is frustrated with his current lot at the Nou Camp. The source suggests that he’s ready to quit and that he’s willing to listen to Premier League club’s offers, including Arsenal and Liverpool.

Arsenal aren’t exactly lacking in quality upfront, but I think it’s fair to say that Pedro would improve just about any side. I’m sure Alexis Sanchez would love to be playing his football alongside the Spaniard once again.

But why would somebody who has made 271 appearances for Barcelona over 8 seasons suddenly decide that it’s time to up and leave? It’s not like he’s struggling to find his best form. Last season he made 54 appearances for Barca and found the back of the net 19 times. That was his best return since the 2010/11 season when he scored 22 goals.

The aforementioned source suggests that Pedro is concerned that if he stays at the Nou Camp, he’s going to become a ‘luxury back-up to Luis Suarez’. Given that Pedro has yet to complete a full 90 minutes this season and that Suarez has yet to return from suspension, there is some cause for worry.

If he’s not willing to stay and duke it out, the I’m sure The Gunners would love to take him on.

Just imagine a forward line-up that includes Theo Walcott, Alexis Sanchez, Danny Welbeck and Pedro. Pretty nippy, eh?

Pedro also carries plenty of goal threat. During his time at Barcelona he has scored a total of 87 goals. I’m sure The Gunners could use his firepower, technical ability and footballing nous.

Pedro won’t come cheap, but he could make a big impact. That’s why he’s worth considering, even if this does look like a luxury signing.

What’s your take? Should The Gunners really be interested in another pacy winger?
