Could a future Manchester United deal for Arturo Vidal now be a ‘formality’?

Arturo Vidal ChileThe Red Devils spent an awfully large amount of cash this summer, but they didn’t manage to sign one of their key transfer targets: Juventus’ superstar midfielder Arturo Vidal.

Sure, they brought in some top talent. Players like Ander Herrera, Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao are sure to make an impact at Old Trafford, but I can’t help but wonder if some fans feel a little disappointed that they weren’t able to wrap up a deal for the Vidal.

The Chilean international has improved immeasurably over the last couple of years. He’s always been a dynamic, energetic presence in the centre-of-the-park. Now he’s added genuine flair and goal-scoring nous to his name, he’s proving to be even more effective.

What’s most impressive about Arturo Vidal is how good his all round game is. He’s an astute defender – he’s quick along the turf and loves to slam into tackles. As we’ve previously noted, he’s also pretty good going forward. One moment, he’ll be breaking an attack up, the next he’ll be initiating one of his own.

I’m not sure that Manchester United have anybody quite like him in their squad. Marouane Fellaini probably comes closest, but he’s struggling to find his feet at Old Trafford. With that in mind, it’s a little disappointing that The Red Devils were unable to wrap up a deal for the Chilean during the summer.

Luckily, The Metro has some pretty good news for Manchester United fans. They claim that the club’s extraordinary financial situation could help them to close a deal for Arturo Vidal in a future transfer window.

Yes, Louis Van Gaal spent a lot of money during the summer, but The Red Devils have just announced a record turnover of £433m. In other words, they have a lot of money left-over that they can spend on new players, regardless of how expensive they might be.

That’s convenient, because Vidal won’t come cheap. Still, with The Metro suggesting that at this stage agreeing a fee for the Chilean could be a simple ‘formality’, there’s plenty of reason to be hopeful.

What’s your take? Can The Red Devils still close a deal for Arturo Vidal?

The Metro is dreaming. So what, all of a sudden money isnt an issue for Man Utd. which puts them in a better position to buy Vidal?

Well when was money ever an issue? They have just spent well over £100 million!! doesnt sound like money was ever an issue! The fact is that they couldnt buy Vidal because he wasnt, and isnt, for sale! You cant buy what isnt there to buy!
