vidalWith Arturo Vidal, Juventus’ talented Chilean strongly linked with a move to Manchester United, fans are jumping on any piece of news relating to the player’s future.

Take for instance, Juve director, Pavel Nedved’s claims that they’re willing to consider offers for their energetic midfielder:

“We don’t want to sell anyone, especially Vidal. Our strategy is clear, we want to keep all our best players, including Vidal and Pogba. Certainly, if there was a high bid for them, we’d have to think about it but we don’t want to sell our champions.” (Source: The Mirror)

There seems to be a bit of double-think within those quotes. Juventus don’t want to sell anyone, want to keep their best players but are willing to consider high bids? These quotes strike me more as a challenge to other clubs, than a genuine signal of intent on the part of Juventus.

Either way, it’s clear that Manchester United are still in with a shot of closing a deal for Arturo Vidal. All they need to do is go in with a bid big enough to tempt Juve into selling.

Given the amount of money rumoured to be in Louis Van Gaal’s transfer war chest, this shouldn’t be too difficult. The Red Devils have considerable financial muscle and should they flex it this summer, I’m sure that Juventus will swoon.

If The Red Devils can close a deal for Arturo Vidal, they’ll have landed a truly impressive footballer. The 27-year-old is hugely versatile, able to play practically any where in the midfield and capable of getting involved both defensively and offensively. His nickname is Il Guerriero (‘The Warrior’), but it’s worth noting that he’s chipped in with 28 goals in 95 appearances for Juventus.

In other words, he’s a good all-round option, who’s going to add serious depth to Manchester United’s midfield. Let’s just hope that Louis Van Gaal is ready and willing to make a ‘high bid’ for Vidal and that he’s able to close the deal.

What’s your take? Can The Red Devils afford to compete for Arturo Vidal? Will Juventus price them out of the market?

It’s true let go with high bid and close this transfer deal to solve our midfield problem, we will still gain by doing business with other clubs for players we don’t want
