Paul PogbaDespite having already spent £37.1m on Juan Mata and £27m on Marouane Fellaini, it looks like Manchester United are still intent on bringing in some more midfield talent.

What else could explain why they keep getting linked to players like Toni Kroos, William Carvalho and Ilkay Gundogan. David Moyes clearly views this as a weakness in his squad and is looking to redress it by splashing the cash.

I’m sure that any of those three would be a good fit for Manchester United, but I can’t help but feel that there’s a better option out there.

How about former Manchester United star, current Juventus ace, Paul Pogba, who has been tearing things up in Serie A for the last two seasons?

The fleet-footed Frenchman has made 40 appearances for The Old Lady this season, scoring 8 goals in 40 appearances. He’s also impressed with his quick, precise build-up play and for his willingness to get forward and support attacks. All this and he’s only 21-years-old.

Given the current state of Manchester United’s midfield (I’m looking mostly at Tom Cleverley, Marouane Fellaini and Darren Fletcher), I’m sure that fans will feel that Sir Alex Ferguson made a mistake when he let Pogba go back in 2012. Could David Moyes be about to put things back in their right place?

According to Soccerisma, Paul Pogba has ‘opened the door’ for a move back to his old club. They suggest that he’d cost Manchester United around £30m, which certainly isn’t outside of Manchester United’s financial wheelhouse.

I’d certainly love to see Paul Pogba get a chance to play alongside Juan Mata. I have a feeling that these two would provide Manchester United with the attacking impetus they’ve lacked since Sir Alex Ferguson flew the coop.

Let’s just hope that Pogba’s willing to return back to Old Trafford. He didn’t exactly set the world alight during his first stay, but I’m sure his second stay would be absolutely sensational.

What’s your take? Should Manchester United move back in for their former charge? Would Paul Pogba help The Red Devil’s to turn their fortunes around?
