Serge AurierWhat are Arsenal going to do when Bacary Sagna moves on this summer?

The French right-back has been a consistent performer for the Gunners, but his decision not to put pen to paper on a new deal is set to bring his time at The Emirates to an end. Unless he has a sudden change of faith and decides to stay after all, Arsenal fans may soon have to wave goodbye to the trusty Frenchman.

His exit will either hold Arsenal back, or it will provide them with an opportunity to make up ground on their Premier League opponents.

I can’t help but feel that it would be a mistake to put too much trust in Carl Jenkinson. The former Charlton Athletic full-back just hasn’t got the top-flight experience necessary to excel at this level.

But should Arsene Wenger make an exciting new signing in this area, The Gunners could come back even stronger next season.

This brings me to The Star‘s claim that Arsenal are interested in Toulouse’s highly-regarded right-back (he’s been nicknamed ‘the Dani Alves of Ligue 1’), Serge Aurier.

The Ivory Coast international is 21-years-old, which makes him 10 years younger than Bacary Sagna. I can’t help but feel that he’d be a breath of fresh air for The Gunners.

What’s more, it seems that he’s keen on a move to The Emirates. Check out these quotes from the player himself:

“You can’t refuse an offer from Arsenal – it would be a dream.”

I’d say it’s about time for Arsenal to make his dream come true. The Star suggest he could cost The Gunners £15m. That’s a lot of money for a young player, but it’s fair market value given his current reputation and the pure potential that he possesses.

There’s no doubt that it’d be sad to wave goodbye to Bacary Sagna, but if he’s not interested in staying, then it’s time to look to the future. Replacing him with a player like Serge Aurier will certainly go a long way towards softening the blow.

What’s your take? Should The Gunners look to replace Bacary Sagna with this Ligue 1 sensation?

Arsenal management always give confidence to the fans, they always squit players for other teams. They did not want to spend money to buy good strikers and players that will help us to win cup.We have tired of hearing fake news, please we really want Wenger to do something this time.
