It sounds a very strange thing to sManchester_United-5ay after the disastrous season so far for the Old Trafford side, but for all of the poor performances there has been some glimmers of hope, and at times they have actually looked like the  ManchesterUnited of old. Of course the problem for United has been that those games have been few and far between but is that really unexpected?

United took the league last year with a side that really should be not have able to achieve that level of success. Clearly with Fergie in charge, the side he put together followed the Scotsman’s lead and took United to the top of the table. This is perhaps where it all went wrong for them this season.

So often when a change in made to a side at the managerial level, it is because of poor performance and a team not being on the same page as their manager. Or, that the side has just gone as far as they can under that manager. When the new man comes in, he brings in a change that turns the players around and sometimes fixes some of the conflicts within the side that may have been there because of the previous manager.

With Sir Alex stepping down however, you had a side that was built around his vision and full of his players. No matter who took over that role, they would have struggled to deal with the changing room full of players tied to the old manager and a side that had already punched above their weight based on the players in the squad.

United set themselves up for failure in the summer with their lack of movement on new players, but slowly they are starting to turn that around with signings like Juan Mata. This summer will see an exodus of the old guard leaving with the likes of Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra and Ryan Giggs on their way out and Moyes lining up his own replacements.

After this summer United will be a different team, and a side which will be more about Moyes and less about Ferguson. This can only be good for the Manchester giants and with the right players coming in, a title next season isn’t so farfetched.

This is the most incoherent babble I’ve ever read. There’s no real justification made to backup the article’s point. My 3yr old could write a better piece. Perhaps the writer should find a new career…
