Despite sporadic successes, Arsenal fans have thus far had a season to forget. They’re already out of the running in the Premier League, have little hope in the Champions League, and were knocked out of the Carling Cup by Bradford City.
It’s a poor position to be in with January approaching. But the January transfer window may be able to provide a fix for all of the Gunners woes. With the right additions, Arsenal may be able to breathe life into their season, climb back up the Premier League table and challenge in the Cup competitions.
Of course, this is all reliant on signing the right players.
Atletico Madrid’s ace winger, Arda Turan may well be one of these players. He’s been strongly linked with a move away from Madrid, and his agent has done little to quell the speculation.
Speaking to Turkish broadcasting service, TRT, Turan’s agent, Ahmet Bulut said: “Arda has played at Atletico Madrid for two seasons now. I have wanted to see him play for another team in another league and Arda wants the same.
We are working on making this happen, Atletico know what our intention is and are working with us. If all goes well, Arda will leave the Madrid club at the end of this season.”
That’s pretty darned definitive, but where will the Turkish ace end up?
“I can’t say the league or you’ll know exactly who I’m talking about but let’s just put it like this, there are only 5-6 clubs which could afford Arda right now and he’s going to join one of these five clubs.”
Bulut has previously admitted: “There are a few clubs interested, Liverpool are one, and Arsenal”, though he claims no official bids have been lodged yet. (Source: Turkish Football).
Arda Turan is an excellent player. He was an integral part of the Madrid side who won the Europa League and Super Cup last season. This season he already has four goals and six assists (from seven games) and has helped Atletico up to second place in La Liga.
The only problem? Turan has a €24m release clause. That will amount to a figure of around £20m for Arsenal, who aren’t exactly known for splashing the cash.
In this case however, it may well be money that’s well spent. Arsenal need to bolster their s
quad, and Turan has the ability to take them to the next level. Let’s hope that Wenger snaps him up.
What’s your take? Should Arsenal trigger Arda Turan’s £20m release-clause?

arsenal must buy good prayers in order to mve away frm the problem is passing through
DON’T KNOW TOO MUCH ABOUT THIS PLAYER ,ONLY KNOW THAT HE IS HIGHLY RATED IN SPAIN AND TURKEY, is he the player we need who know’s ? I believe if he is that good and is worth 20 mill he won’t be comimg to ARSENAL ,We only look for bargains..
If he’s that good why has he only played 7 games this season?
We need a DM & a sharp striker. So, if Turan is one of those positions & is also sharp like the departured SONG/R-V-P then bring hm in.
He will be a good addition to the team if wenger can splash the cash.
wow what player he is plzzz bring him emidiatly
am sure he will add some thing like CAZORLA did
Should be a good buy but arsenal only have 30 mil to spend
You’re a real bundle of joy and optimism aren’t you, Harry.
