It appears that the most sensitive support in the world lacks a little respect and sympathy for others. In the aftermath of the Colorado shootings in which twelve people died while visiting a cinema to watch the latest Batman blockbuster, the infamous Green Brigade can always be relied on to show their true colours. In the latest banner by the extremist Celtic supporters group they show a silhouetted sniper dressed in black, symbolic of the terrorist group the IRA taking aim and shooting a Rangers supporter.
Surely it is time someone told the Green Brigade that violence solves nothing and that the people of Northern Ireland have found ways other than violence to resolve their issues.
The Green Brigade will be allowed to flaunt their hate agenda while the Scottish Government and police stand back paralysed by fear. Nothing will be done in the dark place that is now Scotland about this symbol of open hatred towards Rangers fans.
This banner was flown at a friendly game with Norwich, yet the Celtic support that says it doesn’t want the Old Firm connection seems unable to let go of their more successful rivals. As individuals and indeed websites have faced punishment in the past for mocked up imagery, shall we see any action for the shooting banner?
It was the Celtic support who hit out after a Facebook page asking for the Celtic coach to be shot was set up just days after he was sent bullets in the post. It featured mocked-up pictures of Lennon with holes in his chest and another of his face superimposed on a cartridge with the words special delivery. It seems that the Celtic support, always quick with its fake outrage, has once again shown itself to be hypocrites as the club panders to its lowest common denominator – that the supporters hate Rangers more than they love their own club.

The banner was funny and this is the general concensus I found across the board by the majority of fans of all clubs Rangers included in from the fan forums I chat on.
There is nothing political about the banner its a play on the devolution of Rangers FC from football giant to oblivion and a jibe at how some Rangers fans seem to be following zombie like the notion that nothing has changed and its still business as usual.
